Carus Dental knows that people want a beautiful, healthy smile. In order to help achieve that goal, all of our locations offer cosmetic services including tooth whitening (bleaching), veneers, crowns, bonding, and tooth-colored (composite) fillings. In addition, referrals can be made to our team of specialists for Invisalign braces or for gum reshaping.
Teeth can be bleached (whitened) in order to remove stain and discoloration making your teeth lighter in color. Our tooth whitening procedures include both in-office bleaching and take-home bleaching trays. (See Understanding the Procedures — Bleaching). Crowns or veneers made of porcelain, a tooth-colored material, can be placed over your front teeth in order to change their size, shape, or color. Also, bonding can be done to close up small spaces between teeth or fix teeth that are chipped. Finally, dark, gray fillings can be replaced with tooth-colored fillings.

Keep your bleaching gel in the refrigerator. This simple step will add to the shelf-life of your bleaching material.
After bleaching your teeth, avoid items that cause stain: coffee, black tea, dark colas, berries, red wine, and tobacco. If these are things that you really enjoy and can't avoid them, then be sure to get your professional cleaning at least twice a year so that the stain doesn't build up too much. After initial treatment, some people even do "touch-up" bleaching every 6-8 months to keep their teeth looking their best.
